About HC Youth Music
About Us
Founded in 2022
Through a collaboration between Senior Pastor Jose Rojas, local musicians Dr. Norma Saint-Jean, Mrs. Sonja Long-Lambie, Mr. Bradley Clark and the Houston Central SDA Church. Houston Central Youth Music Program’s first musical performance was on Saturday November 19, 2022 for Divine Worship at Houston Central SDA Church. The Performance featured over 30 musicians under the direction of conductors Dr. Saint-Jean, Mr. Clark and Mrs. Lambie.
With God’s blessing and less than 7 weeks of practice, the Youth Ensemble, Youth Choir and Children’s Choir with varying skill levels ranging from true beginners to advanced musicians provided a symphony of musical praise that belied its 7 week inception.
Our Mission
Our Mission at Houston Central Youth Music Programs (HCYMP) is to nurture and develop our young members’ talents through exceptional music education and to provide music ministry to our church and the community. HCYMP envisions a world where our faith and musical talents merge and overflow to heal, unify, elevate, and reflect the love of God to our local community.
Our Vision
Our Vision is to extend new opportunities for talented youth who want to further their musical skills. Houston Central Youth Music Programs hopes to support and encourage our student musicians through participation in its numerous programs, including a Children’s orchestra Youth ensemble, Youth Choir, Chamber orchestra, an annual end-of-the-season awards recital, and a scholarship cotillion to enrich the lives of our youth and the community.
